Picnic Labs, an insurtech that provides support for mutuals, has appointed Chris Overs as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer and Simone Collins as Senior Actuary.
Mr Overs returns to Picnic after 19 months at Allianz Partners as Head of Compliance, overseeing reforms and assisting with a remediation program in response to recommendations from the Hayne royal commission.
Previous roles have included Head of Legal/Compliance and Group Company Secretary at Youi.
Ms Collins was previously Appointed Actuary and Head of Corporate Actuarial at Youi and has worked in the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority actuarial team.
Mr Overs also becomes Company Secretary for Picnic’s first mutual, Our Ark, launched last year with the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland as a foundation member.
Our Ark last week named Rowan Ward, a former Suncorp Chief Actuary as Chairman. Mr Ward also sits on the board of the National Injury Insurance Scheme Queensland and is Chairman of specialist insurer LFI Group.
Other board members are Picnic Labs and Our Ark CEO Charles Pollack, Picnic Founder Mark Arnold, Melinda Snowden, David Rockley and Member Representative Christopher Wright, the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland Archdeacon.
